ACF Drax Farm

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sprayer Operator / Arable Operator to join our team on a progressive 1500ha arable farm. This is a key role within our arable team requiring a high level of attention to detail and a passion for modern crop production.

The Role

The successful candidate will take primary responsibility for application of the farm’s crop protection program along with some contract spraying. When not in the sprayer, you will be involved in other aspects of arable work.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Operation of a Horsch Leeb pt280 self-propelled sprayer.

  • Precise application of crop protection products and variable rate liquid fertiliser.

  • Maintaining accurate records.

  • General arable duties including, relief drilling, cultivating and relief combine operation.

  • Basic machinery maintenance and workshop duties along with some hedge cutting during the winter months.

The Candidate

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and the appearance of crops.

  • Essential: PA1 & PA2 certificates.

  • Essential: Full UK Driving License and Telehandler certificate.

  • Experience with GPS / RTK guidance systems and variable rate control.

  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions during busy periods.

  • A "team player" attitude, with a willingness to assist in other aspects of work across the Estate if required.
