School Visits

School visits at Charborough Estate are suitable for Primary and Secondary School children and can be adapted to suit specific curriculm requirements and age groups.

The main focus is the annual Estate Open Day, held in each June. These have been developed through co-ordination with the Countryside Foundation for Education and training under the Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme. The days have included:

• Farming (dairy and arable)
• Forestry and woodland management
• Deer management
• The Dorset Wildlife Trust
• Beekeeping
• Game management.

We have welcomed children from age 7 to 15 and have found the optimum age to be 9 to 12 in groups of c20.
